SUITABLE AND QUALITY FOOD FOR ASTRONAUTS

This is one of the joint activities in which we have compared bottled water labels from Bulgaria and Spain with the quality of tap water. To do this, comparative tables have been made an then a poster with the results obtained (This activity is not yet finished)

Daniela Georgieva  V-th primary school, Kyustendil, Bulgaria José Luis Olmo IES Azuer de Manzanares (Ciudad Real Spain).  INTRODUCTION One of the most important challenges that we find in the trips or stays in space is the feeding of the astronauts.  The first enquiry based problem for the students is to investigate these special requirements, besides, to realize its main function to cover its biological necessities of nutrients and energy.  For example, in microgravity conditions some foods leave crumbs, which can obstruct the ventilation ducts, or drinks leave drops that can float in the cab and cause damage to the equipment. The purpose of the project is to introduce early-school children to the concept of " suitable " and "quality" of food. It will include tests - scientific experiments for children that are applicable to the Social Responsibility Applied Sciences section of Interests   activities . Prepared by the BULGARIAN and Spanish CHILDREN under the guidance of our teachers.
